19th century impressionist portrait

19th century impressionist portrait of possible German origin. This work depicts a dreamy woman wearing a late 19th century dress. This work has previously been relined. A possible signature was lost during an early restoration. The upper right corner has been over painted without any traces of damage. Was this done to hide a signature from Nazi looters? 

Two of very notable German painters from this era are Wilhelm Leibl and Max Liebermann. Our work shows some resemblance with both these artists. This work comes with a certificate from the ArtLoss register. The painting has been professionally restored by our partnered restorer.
